The Friday Feature w/ Sean: Embarrassing Coach Moment
Week 121 of #TheFridayFeature Linkedin hashtag. Twenty-five years ago Amanda Gamboa’s LinkedIn decided she wanted to play #soccer Linkedin hashtag. We weren’t familiar with soccer – the game and the rules. The league needed a coach. So, I started my soccer coaching career. I almost fired the coach after the first game! Did you know there are no timeouts in soccer? Within a few years, I had traveled to St. Louis and Indianapolis to become a certified Under 18 youth soccer coach. It wasn’t easy as the intense training required that I play soccer. I arrived home limping with bleeding legs. However, playing was the best way to learn the game and it gave me empathy for what I would ask our players to do. Thanks to Linda Meade for being my coaching partner for many years. We had a great run at Litchfield United Soccer Club. Great memories.
