Raising glasses of non-alcoholic sparkling cider at our first safety meetings in 2024, we celebrated Team SEMO completing 2023 with zero lost time accidents. No trips to the emergency room, no doctor visits, and no hospital admissions. This is our championship win! It isn’t easy. Placing a high priority on life and safety is essential for all of us. Prayers for 2024!

Like many individuals and organizations, SEMO Electric Cooperative is not exempt from paying property taxes. Each year, the Cooperative contributes hundreds of thousands of dollars in local property taxes, supporting vital social services such as health care, education, and emergency management.

Property taxes are levied on assets such as real property (including the land and buildings of our offices and warehouses), vehicles, and our extensive infrastructure, which comprises over 2,600 miles of distribution lines delivering electricity, and 2,000 miles of fiber providing internet, TV, and phone services. In 2023, SEMO Electric Cooperative paid $788,396 in property taxes, while GoSEMO Fiber contributed $364,876, amounting to a total of $1,153,272 across six counties. Back in 2010, the cooperative’s property tax payment totaled $443,055
