“Perhaps it is once again time for Missourians to face that which divides us and come together, to improve our lives, protect our beautiful natural environment, and show all Americans the way forward. Our Missouri, the heart of the heart of this nation, can still be a beacon of light for the rest of the country.”

SEMO Electric’s Annual Membership Meeting is set for Thursday, May 12 at the Sikeston Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo Grounds. Drive-thru to say hello, vote, receive an attendance gift, a $15 bill credit, and be placed in The Grand Prize Drawing for one of five $250 bill credits. Gates will open at 10 a.m. and close at 6 p.m. We would appreciate prayers for no severe storms. Come visit with Team SEMO!

Registration and voting will take place from your vehicle’s window during the event. Members will be asked to approve minutes from the 2021 Annual Meeting, approve financial statements for 2021, amend an item for the Cooperative’s Bylaws, and elect four members to SEMO Electric’s Board of Directors. Please see the following pages for more information. The Grand Prize Drawing will be held live on SEMO Electric Cooperative’s Facebook page at 9 a.m., Friday, May 13. Winners will be notified.

To save you money, this issue of Rural Missouri is SEMO Electric’s Official Notice for the Annual Meeting. SEMO Electric’s Bylaws state the printed annual meeting notice shall be delivered before the date of the meeting. Rather than mail a letter, we utilized this publication to save about $10,000 in printing and postage costs. To clearly notify members we also printed a message on recent bill statements and enclosed a bill insert. We hope to see you at the annual meeting. Thank you for allowing us to serve you.
