SEMO Electric Upgrades Technology

In its commitment to enhance member service, SEMO Electric Cooperative is advancing its metering system with the latest technology. While the technology measuring usage is similar as the old meters, the upgraded version transmits usage and other data in 15-minute increments over a mesh network. In contrast, the outdated models relied on power lines, causing delays. This improvement allows SEMO Electric to conduct residential connection orders remotely, increasing operational efficiency. Members will be notified via email, and a brief power interruption is required for the meter exchange. The next monthly bill will display both before and after meter readings.
