DGA Co-op is One-Stop-Shop for Food, Fuel & Farm Supplies

Whether you're looking to feed an empty stomach or an empty gas tank, craving some coffee-shop camaraderie or seeking a quick fix for a combine, one trip to the Delta Growers Association (DGA) Farm Store located west of Sikeston, Missouri, is all you'll need.

On the off chance you don't find what you're looking for, just look for one of the friendly employees.

"Customers can get everything they need here -- and if we don't have it, we'll get it," says Manager Kevin Linley.

Convenience like this often costs a premium. But DGA Farm Store customers enjoy convenience at competitive prices -- and share in the profits.

That's because, like SEMO Electric, the DGA Farm Store is a member-owned cooperative. By joining together, members leverage greater buying power and share in the profits.

"Customers who become members get a certain percentage back on whatever they buy," says Linley. "The more you buy, the more you get back."

Most of those members are farmers, although anyone is welcome to join the cooperative.

"We've got repeaters and getting newcomers all the time -- and we're starting to see more non-farmers," adds Linley. "We give good service."

In fact, customer care is a priority.

"You have to find a way to gain members' trust and follow through -- and I feel we do a great job at that," says Assistant Manager Richard Patrick of DGA's recipe for customer service.
