AED, CPR Training Essential for Team SEMO
Did you know the average response time for first responders once 911 is called is 8-12 minutes? More than 350,000 people will suffer a cardiac arrest this year. For each minute defibrillation is delayed, the chance of survival reduces by approximately 10%.
Ron Montgomery, a certified American Red Cross trainer at SEMO Electric Cooperative, ensures that Team SEMO, including the staff at SEMO Electric and GoSEMO Fiber, undergoes comprehensive cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillator (AED)training every two years. This training equips them with vital life-saving skills, contributing to their readiness in emergencies.
This holistic learning experience involves a combination of in-person classes and simulation learning, merging online knowledge with hands-on sessions. Notably, most Cooperative vehicles are equipped with an AED, enhancing their preparedness for unforeseen situations.
