SEMO Electric Cooperative's leaders and team recently convened at the Missouri Capitol for the Association of Missouri Electric Cooperatives’ annual legislative conference in Jefferson City. This crucial event provides an opportunity for Missouri’s electric cooperatives to engage directly with elected officials, offering insights into the challenges and priorities shaping our mission of delivering dependable and affordable electricity and broadband services. Legislators, while vital decision-makers, may not possess in-depth knowledge of the evolving energy and broadband landscape. Therefore, SEMO Electric Cooperative's Board of Directors and staff actively participate in face-to-face discussions with legislators, emphasizing key concerns such as grid reliability, rural broadband expansion, electric distribution and transmission costs, and the governance of electric cooperatives.
