How do I make sure my devices get the best speed?
  • For optimal speed, it's recommended to connect your devices directly to your GoSEMO Fiber router.
  • Your router will automatically perform band steering to ensure the best wireless speed.
  • Depending on your location in your home, your devices will be connected to the most suitable network.
  • Newer compatible devices will likely connect to the faster 5GHz network.
  • The 2.4GHz network provides broader Wi-Fi coverage throughout your home.

My device isn’t getting correct speed, what’s up?

There are a few things to take into consideration when testing your internet speed:

  • Older devices may not have the necessary hardware for full wireless speed utilization.
  • We recommend a device reboot if you suddenly experience a Wi-Fi slow down.
  • Comparing speed test results on multiple devices can help determine if you’re having a connection problem, a wireless problem, or an issue with your specific device.
  • Environmental factors can also play a factor in your wireless speed test results. Things like baby monitors, microwaves, and security cameras are what we like to call “Wi-Fi haters.”

For the most accurate results, it's recommended to perform a speed test from a wired connection using the GoSEMO Fiber router's speed test site.
